I feel like I’ve had lots of jobs and careers from customer service, coaching, learning and development to owning a catering company. The common thread through all of this as been my interest in people and how they develop and grow.
My interest in hypnotherapy started when my husband went to a hypnotherapist to help him stop smoking fourteen years ago. He came back from one session and has never smoked since. He recommended the hypnotherapist to my mum several years later and my mum hasn’t smoked now for over ten years. Wow! I found it fascinating that something so dramatic and life changing can happen so quickly simply by changing the way you think about it.
Following a lucky break a couple of years ago, I was able to take some time out to have a think about what I want to do next. Then Covid hit. It was a hard time for lots of people, I helped out making calls to people who were on their own isolating, and it really struck me how important it is to our mental health to connect with people. I must’ve been doing a lot of googling around the topic because the google fairy started showing me adverts for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and how it can help people who suffer with anxiety and depression.
After doing my research I enrolled with CPHT Nottingham, and I’ve not looked back. It was a very intensive 10 months of theory and over 400 hours of practical application. I’m now a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and have successfully completed the NCFE accredited Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma.
I now have my own practice with clients coming to see me in my purpose-built hypnotherapy room or via zoom for those clients who are further away. I love it and feel privileged to be able to work with interesting people and watch the transformations they make.
